Prezi
Here is a link to my prezi.
Prezi is different than PowerPoint because you can enter all of your information on the same page instead of on different slides. It is like PowerPoint in that you can make a slide show. I prefer PowerPoint over Prezi because I found Prezi to be very hard to work with. I didn't like that if you clicked on the slide show, you lose everything unless you save before you do it. I think an advantage to using Prezi would be that you can put your ideas onto the screen and then go from there. The biggest disadvantage was the fact that you had to save every time you wanted to view the slide show.
I think the ISTE Standards that this could fall under are:
1. Facilitate and Inspire Student Learning and Creativity.
C. Promote student reflection using collaborative tools to reveal and clarify students' conceptual understanding and thinking, planning, and creative processes.
2. Design and Develop Digital-Age Learning Experiences and Assessment.
C. Customize and personalize learning activities to address students' diverse learning styles, working strategies, and abilities using digital tools and resources.
3. Model Digital-Age Work and Learning.
A. Demonstrate fluency in technology systems and the transfer of current knowledge to new technologies and situations.

Ignite
Here is a link to my slideshare. I did my presentation on Plate Boundaries because I just took Geosphere last semester and I really enjoyed learning about the different plate boundaries. I think it will be really fun to teach my students about the plate boundaries because there are so many different activities you can use in order to teach them. The ISTE NETS standard that this falls under is:

Powerpoint
Here is a link to my slideshare. I found this to be very interesting, yet very challenging. I have never done a powerpoint like this before, but I really like it. I think my lesson could be taught to first graders on a unit of insects. I think my presentation would keep them interested, and they can learn a lot from it. The ISTE NETS standard that this falls under is:
2. Design and Develop Digital-Age Learning Experiences and Assessments
a. design or adapt relevant learning experiences that incorporate digital tools and resources that promote students learning and creativity.

Jing Screencast
Here is a link to my screencast. I decided to show how to get to Microsoft Word and then how to add a bar graph to your document. I felt like this would be very useful for those that have never used a bar graph on the computer. The ISTE NETS standard that this falls under is:
2. Design and Develop Digital-Age Learning Experiences and Assessments
b. develop technology-enriched learning environments that enable all students to pursue their individual curiosities and become active participants in setting their own educational goals, managing their own learning, and assessing their own progress.
Jing Image

Google Draw Tool
Here is my drawing.
This is the first time that I have ever used a drawing tool. I expected it to be a lot harder, but it really wasn't. Google has created a very easy application to use. I think this could fall under Standard 1: Faciliate and Inspire Student Learning and Creativity

Self-Assessment
I have completed the self-assessment and have made any necessary changes to my blog.
Glogster
Here is my glog.
Answers to the learning outcomes:
1. A glog is a personal poster that allows students to express themselves on the internet. They can make a poster on just about anything they want to, using the glogster website.
2. In my classroom, I could use a glog by having students make up a poster on a certain subject. If I were teaching about Earth Day, for example, I could have my students make up a poster that expresses what they think a perfect world would look like. I could also have my students make up their own glog to allow them to get to know each other better. By looking at others glogs, students can see what their peers likes are, and maybe they may find out they have something in common with one of their peers.
3. I think this would fall under 1: Facilitate and Inspire Student Learning and Creativity. It allows students to use digital tools in order to solve problems, and it promotes creative and innovative thinking.
4. The only problem with using this is that teachers would need to monitor what their students are putting on there. There aren't any restrictions, and students could upload anything they wanted to on their glog. It could become a very big problems if teachers and students parents weren't monitoring what they are doing on a regular basis. It could also become a way for students to meet other people, and with it being free, anyone has access to it.

Self-Portrait
The hardest part for me to make a self-portrait was finding the features that looked the most like me. There really wasn't anything that looked like me, so I just picked the things that were the closest. I also had troubles with finding the right color, so I kept my black other than my hair. I didn't add any ears because I couldn't flip the ear that I chose to go on the left side of the face.
Here you can find my picture. The ISTE NETS Standard that this falls under is:

Voice Thread
This is the first time that I have ever used voice thread. I am very impressed with it and find it very easy to use. I like that you can get onto your web cam and record things all on the same site. Without having any experience with it, I didn't have any troubles at all with it. I think it would be a very good tool to use in the classroom because students can have access to it any time they want to get on. I could upload lessons, or if my students are having troubles with something, they can always post a question and I could get on there and respond back to them. I think the ISTE NETS standard that this falls under is:
2. Design and Develop Digital-Age Learning Experiences and Assessments
d. provide students with multiple and varied formative and summative assessments aligned with content and technology standards and use resulting data to inform learning and teaching.

Google Reader
After exploring many blogs, I found two that I really liked a lot. The first one is Tips of the Iceberg, under the Best Teacher Blog. It gives a bunch of different applications to use in the classroom for the Ipod Touch. I feel like this is something very useful, because almost every child has an Ipod Touch, and a lot of schools have already given students iPads. I think this is something that will probably be very common by the time I start teaching. There are so many educational applications that students can download onto their iPods, and I many of them are free. The blog gives a lot of different applications that are available and gives a brief description of each. The second one that I have chosen to follow is Creating Lifelong Learners under the best educational technical blog. I found this one to be very interesting because it gives a lot of different tips on what to do in the classroom to make sure your students will be lifelong learners. I always find it very helpful to get tips from teachers, especially since I have not starting teaching yet. I like to get different ideas on how to teach different subjects, and learn what works best for certain things. I really like one of the blogs on there that talks about "what teachers really mean". It also shows how to use Youtube in the classroom, which makes it cheaper than purchasing educational movies.

Personality Test Results
The personality test said that I fit under the guardian temperament. That is exactly what I guessed I was. I feel like having this type of personality, it will help me succeed as a teacher. I know I will like to keep my classroom neat and organized, and make sure that my students get things done and completed on time. I know that this won't always happen, and I will have to learn to deal with that. All of my students will be different, but I hope to make them very responsible, just as I am. I want my students to strive to be the best that they can, and that is something I know I will always encourage them to do. I think that with working with others, I am always going to expect my coworkers to carry their own weight. However, my coworkers will soon learn that I am very responsible and dependable, which should make me very likable in the work field.
Personality Tests
I have never actually taken a personality test before, however, I have heard a lot about them. I would guess that my personality temperament would be guardian, because I feel like I am a very trustworthy person and I'm very dependable. There are four different types of Guardians, and I feel like I would fit under the protector. I am very protective over the one's I love. Everyone laughs at me because of how protective I am over my dog. I do not have children yet, and I think of him as my child, so I would be devastated if anything ever happened to him. I am anxious to see if this is what I will actually be classified as, but I am just determining this by reading over the different temperaments and thinking of what best describes me.

Browser Wars
A web browser is a software application for retrieving, presenting, and transfering information resources on the World Wide Web. The four most popular web browsers that are within the browser wars are: Google Chrome, Internet Explorer 7, Internet Explorer 8, and Firefox. I have only used Internet Explorer 7 and 8. I have never had any troubles with Internet Explorer, and I really like using it. Looking at the different statistics, more people have chosen firefox than Internet Explorer, so I think I am going to try it. The term "browser wars" refers to the competition that exists between the different companies. Basically, its the competition to make the best software for consumers. So, the consumer is the one that is responsible for driving the browser wars. I think it is important to be the number one browser, because that means more people are going to choose your software program, and you are going to be the one that makes the most money. It is also very important to hold up to that number one spot, and make sure the company keeps improving their software, or the competition may take over the number one spot.
